The New York Daily News is a tabloid newspaper founded in 1919. It was the first American daily paper printed in tabloid format and at its peak had the third highest circulation of any daily newspaper in the United States. It is currently owned by tronc, the publishing operations of the former Tribune Company, and is headquartered at 4 New York Plaza in Lower Manhattan. The paper has a long history of political activism and is often viewed as the left-wing counterpoint to the right-wing New York Post.
Its editorial stance has varied over the years, from high-minded populism in the 1940s to support for isolationism during World War II, and in later decades shifting toward a more moderate-to-liberal bias. The News maintains a strong presence in the New York City community and has a well-known tabloid style that attracts many readers.
In addition to daily news articles, the Daily News E-dition includes an extensive archive of past issues. The E-dition also features interactive tools designed to enhance your reading experience, including a PDF download option that allows you to view and read the newspaper on the go, as well as a feature that makes it easy to share stories with friends.
A wide variety of subscription options are available, ranging from a single daily issue to an unlimited number of weeks of access. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time.
